The Facade in ‘Reality’

Psalm 18:7-16 King James Version (KJV)

7 Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was angry.

8 There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

9 He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet.

10 And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind.

11 He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.

12 At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire.

13 The Lord also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire.

14 He sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and discomfited them.

15 Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O Lord, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.

16 He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.

The TV ran in the background, a din of a pampered and prepped talk show host, laughing and talking so well-rehearsed and in tune. And the rumbled on cue claps of an audience, rolling loud, but without life. Paperwork, bills, and scribbled down appointment reminders neatly stashed in a drawer. Furniture shined, plants neat on a shelf, picture frames of smiling faces and memories captured to look like kodak moments. There you sat on the sofa, and cried. Looking all around at a ‘reality,’ that seemed unfair, that put so many questions in your mind, that made you wonder your purpose.

We live in a world that has demands that must be met in order to survive: such as work, paying bills( rendering Ceasar’s things to Ceasar,) being servant hearted to our families and others in need, cleaning even, and making responsible choices, Romans 13. The true reality is though, that although all these things are needs, they should not be what we are living for.

Getting up gettingdressedgoingtoworkpayingbillsstrugglingfinanciallystrugglingfinanciallycryingfightingstrugglinggettingbackup….. This. Is. Only. PART. of our true reality. Our true purpose is the life God has destined for his kids that chose to walk the narrow path to life… through trials and tribulations we will enter the kingdom of God.

Gonna say it again, the world makes it feel like life is *all about* work, paying bills, buying stuff, going through motions of relationships, giving up when things feel too hard, messing around, and taking things lightly( ‘living it up’ or Yolo). The majority think like this, so the minority that know the truth and preach, sound like kooks; but only because theyre outnumbered. Having more individuals support a cause doesn’t always make what they’re hollering about, true. In history it was usually the one person that thought differently that made revolutionary change, happen. Jesus.

God’s son is coming, time to open your heart to God, so that He may open your eyes to our true ‘reality.’

1 John 3:8 New International Version (NIV)

8 The one who does what is sinful is of the devil, because the devil has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the devil’s work.

1 John 2 New International Version (NIV)

2 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have an advocate with the Father—Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
