We are meant to walk on the narrow path to life, yes there will be trials and tribulations.
We have freewill, God does not force us to do good, though he begs we do because it hurts Him to see us suffer from purposely choosing bad. Though God is still sovereign. Working all things together for good for those that love Him. ( Romans 8:28)
It’s important to seek God’s direction, which encompasses ALL God’s scriptures in context in all entirety, not manipulating them to our fleshly desire & His Spirit which is pure 1st then love ( love is…1st Cor 13:4-8 ). We must surrender to let God’s will be done in our lives, not our own will.
We will suffocate in anxiety, frustration, and depression if we try to force our rushed, selfish, pleasure-desiring will over God’s peaceful, sound, reassuring will.
Be still in God when things are out of our control, God is fighting our battles. Exodus 14:14
Do not worry so much about taking the reigns on the distant future, the bible says in Matt 6:34,
Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Believers and unbelievers are equally sinful. The difference is ONLY the gift of God’s sinless Holy Spirit poured into those that choose to believe in Him with all their heart and thus repent and obey Him.
To properly repent means to not keep running back to a sin. With God’s Holy Spirit this is possible. We must just throw away our pride and confess to God sincerely what specifically we struggle with.
Confessing to God is not meant to be humiliating, it’s meant to set our soul free of burden. It’s basically acknowledging that you need help, you want help, you’re using your freewill to choose to get that help, and in prayer to God through Christ you ask for it, and He will give His Holy Spirit to overcome the weaknesses of the flesh. Keep asking and believe and you will receive.
To stay on the narrow path means a blessing of God’s Holy Spirit upon your life. And the fruits of the Spirit that come over time. Joy, inner peace, patience, self-control, kindness, goodness etc.
To step off the narrow path means falling into Satan’s traps, or simply being hunted ( tempted) by Satan essentially, which bring: what we refer to as ‘mental illness’ today, ranging from anxiety, to paranoia, to schizo, to bipolar, to depression, to identity crises. ( Physically observable there is still a chemical imbalance, and there are still hereditary ties ( its called being born sinners), and there may have still been trauma, or drug abuse,) all are connected in losing ourselves from biconditionally having lost God, or refused God). Losing God means losing ourselves because God made us. Trying to live without God is like living without a heart and a soul and a mind, we become emotionless, lagging, glitching, breaking robots.
God gives tremendous grace to his babies new to the Faith, eventually as we grow stronger in Faith we will become weaned off of things we too heavily relied on, and of course Satan will try harsher methods to tempt us, testing our Faith, but with God we can overcome these tests ( God will never allow us to be tempted beyond what we can endure,), learn more, and grow more, drawing closer to God, and becoming like those of the bible that trusted God even when things seemed impossible.
